Hi Gardeners
To recap today's meeting:

1. Primavera will be responsible for the care and maintenance of the parking lot perimeter on the west side of the garden. This will include watering, mulching, weed removal and care for the blackberry bush planted by Tierra Anita. Primavera prefers to use gravel for weed control due to diminishing staffing levels, however they have agreed to keep mulch around the plants that are currently there, particularly the black berry bush. Mulch will be placed under the "drip line" or canopy of the plants with gravel in the other areas.
2. Tierra Anita would prefer Primavera not use gravel to mulch on the south side of the perimeter.
3. Primavera has offered the mulch currently in the west side parking perimeter to Tierra Anita. Tierra Anita will have to remove it by June at which time Primavera maintenance will remove it and replace with gravel except where noted in item #1
4. Tierra Anita will cap the west side spaghetti irrigation lines that currently serve the mesquite tree, blackberry and other plants. Primavera will take over watering this area when a new irrigation installation occurs (sometime in the next 2 months) serving the parking lot perimeter.
5. Tierra Anita will monitor the overgrowth of plants in the city right of way on the south and east exterior sides of the garden (on both the left and right sides of the sidewalk). Tierra Anita will keep the sidewalk area clear of overgrowth.
6. Water use and plot fees are in balance for this quarter. Susan reminded us we can split the 15 minutes per day water limit to morning and night.
7. Discussion about individual shade structures included sourcing shade cloth from the Food Bank.
8. Gail has been selling small amounts of 'surplus' from various plots to the Santa Cruz farmers' market to help raise funds for the treasury. Barbara and Feliciano have offered mint for the next farmer' market. Joan and Gail are still selling parsley. It is possible to increase this source of revenue.
9. We forgot to talk about putting some small signs in the perimeter right away that say something like "Caution; surface irrigation lines present. Please do not damage". Several gardeners think this is a good idea.
10. Susan will talk to her welder contact about taking over the new signage project for the garden.
11. Gail reported to Primavera the information from the city about the property's legal owner of record (not primavera) and the status of building a ramada or selling vegetables based on the current zoning.

If anyone has additions I forgot, please send along.

Best,
Gail
