Hi everyone,

We had 5 people at our meeting yesterday morning in spite of the cold and rain.

Joan will scoot her plot over half a valve to accomodate the community artichokes that are almost ready for harvesting.

Gail will take a few feet next to her plot to start a farmer's market plot. Anyone who has anything to spare can tell Gail who can harvest it and take it to the Santa Cruz farmers market down the street on Speedway every Thursday from 4pm-7pm. Top sellers are fresh herbs, tomatoes, greens.

We will plant Pumpkins again this year in the large plot with the grapefruit and pomegranite trees. (The freeze killed the larger lemon tree)

We discussed the need for shade cloth and structures to support it for this summer's growing season.

Andy has volunteered to make a few more of the chicken cages that keep the critters out and could be used to create shade, but the chicken wire is very expensive to buy new.

Anyone with a line on free/cheap rebar, signposts, fenceposts, chicken wire, or other materials please let us know. We don't want to spend a lot of money on materials.

Our current bank balance is $318. 00, and dues are coming in to raise that amount.

Or next meeting is Saturday, May 14th at 8am. Hope to see you there!

Susan
