Yea! We made $ at the yard sale today! Thanks to everyone who pitched in, donated sale items, made signs, made lemonade, loaned racks and tables and everyone who stopped by and bought stuff. It was actually a lot of fun, and we got to meet some more of our neighbors who stopped by.
At the last meeting I took over the job of treasurer, so I will deposit the money next week and calculate the remaining balance (we still need to raise about $70 to cover our water bill at the end of the month.)
We were talking today about having another sale at the end of October. We would have more produce from the garden, get more yard sale donations, package wildflower seeds, sell plant seedlings (we will have to start those right away) have our lemonade stand again, solicit more home baked goodies, and then have a halloween MONSTER MASH for trick or treaters in the late afternoon/evening. ( And we'd need to do much better advertising than I did for this sale.)
Lynn had an idea for a cookbook we can put together based on the foods we are growing in the garden.
There are a couple plots available as well.
We are also hoping to meet with pro-neighborhoods about additional fundraising ideas.
Our next meeting is this saturday the 11th, 8am at the garden.
